Edgard Pineda
He spent his childhood on white sands and temperatures as low as 20 degrees Celsius (that's 68 in Farenheit!)... as he lived in the Brazilian city of Salvador de Bahía until the moment his family moved to Santiago, where he became a Civil Engineer in Computing.

Edgard came into Newtenberg with a serene approach and a mentality which was ready to take on new challenges. His joining us obeys to one of his ambitions. As he himself puts it: "I wanted to be part of a multi-disciplinary team where we can develop new ideas, where we can do project implementations and follow-ups".

In 1988, he changed the paradise-like beaches of Salvador de Bahía in Brazil -where he was born- for the hills of Santiago de Chile, a town which did not witness his birth but has seen him grow as a professional.

He decided to become a Civil Engineer in the Sciences of Computing after nursing a curiosity to know how video games worked and were created.

In his professional field, Edgard has specialized in Collaborative Software, his highlights being the Systems for the Collaborative Edition of Texts and the Systems for Content Management.

Mr Pineda has also worked with Data Bases (DB) with an outstanding performance at Vision Advisors S.A. and CODELCO. However, he is most remembered at the Facultad de Ciencias Físicas y Matemáticas from Universidad de Chile because of his work for the Medical and Dental Service for the Students, where, as Head of Project and Requirements Engineer, he designed and programmed the first version of the "Sistema de Agenda Médica", a system which allowed users to ask for an appointment with the doctor through a website.

In September 2001, Edgard flew to Darmstadt, in Germany, to participate at the "Seventh International Workshop on Groupware" (CRIWG'2001), where, together with Professor José Pino, he talked about "Stick-Ons Revisited" a topic on which they worked together as part of his thesis.
